“THERE ARE a lot of Beatles tribute bands from all over the world and I’ve seen them all, but The Mersey Beatles are the best I’ve heard.”
So said John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird about the Liverpudlian tribute band that plays the Róisín Dubh tomorrow from 8pm.
Their show is a two hour set covering all eras of the band, from the hi-making 1962 - 1965 era, the creation of psychedelia from 1965 - 67, and the extraordinary period of restless artistic creativity and from 1967 - 70 that still casts such a long shadow over rock music today.
Expect to hear a great selection of hits, album favourites, and classic Fab anthems. As The Beatles said in ‘Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite’: “A splendid time is guaranteed for all.”
Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
