GALWAY TEENS who love writing and telling stories should take note of Fighting Words, a new writing session taking place in Galway city this month.

Fighting Words aims to help teens develop their writing skills and explore their love of creating with words. Geared towards those aged 12 years and over, the classes take place at the Galway City Youth Café, Fairgreen Road, opposite the Coach Station, on Saturday June 15 from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.

The workshops are run by volunteers that include professional writers - novelists, screen-writers, journalists, poets - aspiring writers, and retired teachers.

In addition to the creative writing workshops, there will also be animation filmmaking workshops at the Galway Film Centre and Streetdance with Patsy Browne-Hope.

Advance registration is required for all the above classes. For information contact Anne Weadick at [email protected] or 087 - 1171789.
