Mullagh and Loughrea replay this Sunday in Kenny Park

Following last weekend's exciting 1-13 to 0-16 draw in Ballinasloe, Mullagh and Loughrea must do it all again this Sunday (2.30pm ) in Athenry.

The winners of that tie will take on Turloughmore in the county semi-final following their impressive 0-17 to 0-15 victory over Portumna.

Galway star Joe Canning hit 0-13 for Portumna, but it was not enough to stop the three-times All-Ireland champions crashing out of the 2012 championship with Galway captain Fergal Moore leading the Turlough challenge.

It looked likely that the Portumna and Turloughmore tie could also have ended in a draw with the sides deadlocked at 0-15 going into the last few minutes. However late points from Gary Burke and Darren O’Shaughnessy sealed the semi-final place for former All-Ireland winning club manager Micheal Donoghue's side.

With the likes of Ronan Badger, Brian Murphy, Daithi Burke, Matthew Keating and Francis Forde in their ranks and with the confidence garnered from last weekend's big win, the Turlough men will take a bit of stopping.

In the other county semi-final, St Thomas will face Gort after Conor Cooney’s 1-6 haul gave St Thomas a 2-20 to 0-10 win over Castlegar.

Cooney’s goal helped St Thomas to a 1-10 to 0-7 lead at half-time, and when Anthony Kelly rattled the net for a second time early in the second-half, the win was secure.

Two goals in the first half from Richie Cummins proved crucial for Gort in their 3-13 to 2-14 win over Padraig Pearses.

Gort led by 2-6 to 0-9 at the break and, when Gerard O’Donoghue found the net for the third time for them midway through the second-half, it looked like the game was over.

However Fergal Flannery cracked a 20m free to the net five minutes from time to reduce the deficit to four, and he very nearly added another shortly afterwards, but Gort held out to reach the last four.

Last weekend's county senior quarter-final results:

Loughrea 0-16 Mullagh 1-13

Gort 3-13 Padraig Pearses 2-14

St. Thomas 2-20 Castlegar 0-10

Turloughmore 0-17 Portumna 0-15
