CAROLINE CANNING and Cathal O’Malley will exhibit their new paintings as part of this year’s Festival of the Sea in Cleggan-Claddaghduff.
The exhibition will be officially opened on Friday July 30 at 7pm by sculptor John Coll in the Claddaghduff Hall in Connemara.
The hall overlooks Omey Island which was a source of inspiration to both artists as is the landscape of the Claddaghduff area. Cathal paints full time in Connemara and Caroline divides her time between Connemara and Dublin.
“I would often complete Omey paintings in my Dublin studio,” she says. “Omey is as much a feeling as a place so I can carry that feeling across country with me. Anyway you can’t always paint outside in that weather!”
The exhibition continues until Friday August 6.
