Local group SamePage Theatre is returning to the Mick Lally Theatre in Galway this May with another critically acclaimed classic, Blithe Spirit by Noël Coward.

Following their sold-out run of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest last September, the team are back at the iconic venue.

Featuring a local cast and crew, SamePage is bringing Blithe Spirit to life for three nights –Thursday May 14 to Saturday May 16.

SamePage Theatre was formed in 2017 by Robbie Walsh and Sarah Slevin. Blithe Spirit marks their 12th production.

Previous productions include plays by the likes of Enda Walsh, Harold Pinter and Mike Bartlett, along with their first venture into musical theatre in 2024 with Stephen Sondheim's Company.

Blithe Spirit follows novelist Charles Condomine (Mark Regan ), who is researching material for a new mystery book he is writing.

He invites medium, Madam Arcati (Ailbhe Slevin ) to his home to conduct a séance — but instead of gaining inspiration, he accidentally conjures his late and mischievous first wife, Elvira (Erika Moore ).

As Elvira wreaks ghostly havoc on Charles and his current wife Ruth (Eimear Gormally ), things go from strange to absolutely otherworldly.

With razor-sharp wit, eccentric characters and Coward’s signature charm, Blithe Spirit is a delightfully witty reminder that the past has a way of lingering… especially when it is not quite ready to leave.

Alongside the actors mentioned above, the play also features Jay Hall as Dr Bradman, Michelle Palmer as Mrs Bradman and Ellen Keane as Edith.

Co-directed by Robbie Walsh and Sarah Slevin, the production team includes Shane Mullarkey as Set Designer, Shifra Tobin as Costume Designer, Aoife McGlinchey as Lighting Designer, Aoife Lannon as Sound Designer, Aisling Woods as Props Designer/Stage Manager, Richard Browne as Hair & Makeup Designer and Venus Kearns as Hair & Makeup Artist.

The play runs at the Mick Lally Theatre from Thursday May 14 to Saturday May 16, tickets are €18 from druid.ie
