KATS to stage Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit

NOËL COWARD'S comic play Blithe Spirit will be performed by the Knocknacarra Amateur Theatre Society in An Taibhdhearc from Wednesday May 25 to Saturday 28 at 8pm.

Socialite and novelist Charles Condomine invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira, who makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles's marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.

The play was first seen in the West End in 1941, and Coward adapted the play for film in 1945. The KATS cast will be Donnacha Bushe, Katie Creaven, Gail O'Dowd, Grainne White, Kevin Murphy, Ailbhe Slevin, and Kate O'Mahony. The director is Robbie Walsh.
