Galway writer blazes path in the Big Smoke

Galway’s own Luke Morgan featured prominently at the Irish Writers Centre launch of a brand-new showcase series for regional voices last week in Dublin.

The inaugural event, ‘The Out of Towners’, brought together five poets from across Ireland to celebrate newly published work, and Morgan’s reading from his latest collection, Blood Atlas, was a highlight of the evening.

Morgan, the 2025 Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award winner, continues to make waves nationally as both poet and filmmaker. His third collection was supported by The Arts Council and builds on his growing international reputation.

The Irish Writers Centre’s new showcase is curated to celebrate Ireland’s rich poetic diversity. ‘The Out of Towners’ is designed to feature five poets whose compelling work captures a range of regional and personal perspectives.
