Hailing from Salthill in Galway city, Emily Jane Cooke is a genre-blending composer.

Her influences include Erykah Badu, Nai Palm from Hiatus Kiayote and - of course - the one and only Ella Fitzgerald.

The trained musician studied jazz and contemporary performance at DCU, and is excited to release her first body of work.

Her first single, ‘Run For Me’, will be released on June 30, after revealing her first EP, To Promenade, which goes live on June 27.

To Promenade is a concept project that uses imagery and landscapes from Emily Jane's native Salthill to explore transformation and longing. This is ethereal folk filtered through a contemporary jazz prism.

To celebrate the release of To Promenade there will be an EP launch at Hens Teeth in Dublin where the singer now lives, on June 29, at 1.30pm.

Keep your eyes peeled on social media for news of a hometown Galway city gig for Emily Jane soon.
