Niamh Regan to release new EP

County Galway singer to have EP launch shows in Dublin and London

IT IS onwards and upwards for County Galway singer-songwriter Niamh Regan, who is set to release her new EP, In The Meantime, with launch shows in Dublin and London.

Nimah, from Kilrickle, east Galway, has already won great acclaim for her debut album, Hemat, which was one of the finest Irish releases of 2020, and recognised as such by its nomination for a Choice Music Prize Irish Album of Year award in 2021. She also earned nominations at the RTE Folk Awards.

Speaking about the new EP, Nimah called it “a collection of four songs I wrote during the first and second lockdown. The EP has themes around everyday life, feeling stuck, family, love, loneliness, loyalty, and escape.”

Ahead of the EP, Niamh will release a new single ‘Winter in Eden’, featuring Ciaran Lavery. She is also at work on her second album. “I’ve been writing away, slowly but surely the last few months,” she said, “and I’m getting excited about the record already.”

The EP launch gigs take place in The Grand Social, Dublin on Friday March 4 and The Green Note, London, on Sunday March 6. More dates are to be announced and we certainly hope Niamh will be adding Galway to her touring itinerary.
