Guidance and tips for how to succeed in the United States were the focus of a recent seminar in Galway Technology Centre (GTC ).

Galway businesses interested in breaking into the US market were provided with in depth advice and insights to help them understand the challenges involved in making the step across the Atlantic.

A top class panel of subject experts took part in the event, including Conor Kenny of the US Embassy in Dublin and Select USA and Karole Egan of Enterprise Ireland. They were joined by Conor O’Loughlin, the CEO and Founder of Glofox, an Irish business that provides an all in one management platform for fitness studios and gyms which has enjoyed consistent success in the US market. The panel was moderated by Ultan Faherty of WestBIC.

The event was the latest in GTC’s “Doing Business in the US” series, which aims to assist companies from Galway and the West who are looking to scale their businesses to prepare for that market.

Speaking about the sensor, Noreen Conway, Regional Outreach and Collaboration Manager with GTC said, “Galway Technology Centre has always been about helping our members, supporting them and enabling them to thrive and scale. As Ireland’s first technology enterprise centre we have also always understood the importance of outward growth. Over the years GTC has supported multiple west of Ireland entrepreneurs who have managed to develop scaling businesses that have been a success in the US or other foreign markets.

“For many businesses, crossing over to the Atlantic is the ultimate scaling journey. The US is a market which can be challenging to crack, but which can unlock vast possibilities for those who succeed.

To help navigate those challenges we want companies who are looking to breakthrough in the US to get the advice and insight they need. Guidance that will allow them to make smart business decisions that will enable them to succeed. That’s the purpose behind this seminar and our wider ‘Doing Business in the US” series. We expect to hold further interesting events featuring exciting speakers early in the new year.”
