Cois Cladaigh - a streamed concert for Christmas

Galway choir’s first show from St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church in two years

THIS SATURDAY, December 18, at 8pm, Cois Cladaigh Choir Galway will live stream its first concert in two years from St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church.

The choir, which recently returned to live rehearsals, is “thrilled and excited” to be presenting a concert under its new musical director Daniel Beuster. Mr Beuster has taken over from founder/director, Dr Brendan O’Connor, who retired recently.

Originally from Galway, and currently living in Cork, Mr Beuster is a professional conductor and singer, who studied choral conducting under internationally acclaimed conductor Tonu Kaljuste. He won a gold medal at Festival Internazionale Corale Verona in 2016 and the gold medal at the 2017 Budapest International Choral Festival. Most recently, he conducted the Estonian premiere of Joby Talbot’s ‘Path Of Miracles’.

Saturday’s concert will be under the themes of celebration, coming together, and remembrance. It will include Christmas music from the choir’s repertoire including ‘Jesus Christ the Apple Tree’, ‘My Lord Has Come’, ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, and ‘Jul Jul’.

The concert will be live streamed on Facebook at 8pm. The concert is free to view.
