Poet Stephen James Smith at the Róisín Dubh

Irish spoken word artist is admired by Christy Moore, Eddie Vedder, and Donal Ryan

STEPHEN JAMES Smith, the Dublin poet, playwright, and spoken word artist, plays the last date of his Irish tour in Galway, before taking his verse around Britain.

Smith plays the Róisín Dubh on Saturday October 5 at 8pm, with special guest, the acclaimed Manchester poet Tony Walsh. The two bards are set to regale the audience for 90+ minutes of poems of sorrow and joy, as well as some new stories.

Smith’s poetry videos have amassed more than three million views and he has performed at the National Concert Hall, the London Palladium, Electric Picnic, and Glastonbury. His vibrant live performances of riveting poems like ‘Dublin You Are’ and ‘My Ireland’ have won him many admirers, including Roddy Doyle, Christy Moore, Eddie Vedder, and Donal Ryan. He debut collection of poetry, Fear Not, published in 2018, was a bestseller.
