Gino D’Acampo’s to launch his Real Italian Food range with Iceland

Well-known Italian chef Gino D’Acampo has created a range of Italian frozen meals, all made in Italy and free from artificial ingredients, colourings, and flavourings.

D’Acampo has chosen Iceland to be the Irish supermarket to sell his range, which is now available to buy in store.

The Real Italian Food range builds on D’Acampo's extensive knowledge and his partnerships with specialist Italian producers to create a truly authentic range of Italian dishes, all inspired by generations of his family's recipes.

As you would expect from someone who was born and raised in Naples, the birthplace of pizza, the range includes pizzas and flatbreads made using traditional Neapolitan methods.

In keeping with his own daily diet, there is also a range of sauces that people can enjoy with pasta and main meals, including favourite classics — lasagne, cannelloni, aubergine parmigiana, and Gino’s own personal favourite, Mia’s meatballs, inspired by his seven-year-old daughter who has worked closely with her dad on the launch.

With no Italian meal complete without at least one shot of espresso, D’Acampo has included a classic Tiramisu to provide sweet-toothed Iceland shoppers with the ultimate dessert of choice.

“I chose to launch my new frozen range of products in Iceland because I wanted as many people as possible to have the opportunity to try my range," he said. "The range will be available in all 26 stores nationwide for everyone to try it out. And after all, Iceland is the specialist when it comes to frozen food.

“I never understand the perception people have that frozen food is cheap food. I make great Italian dishes at home and freeze them for later. With the help of my partners in Italy that is exactly what we have done here, just on a bigger scale.”
