G is for great gastronomy fresh from Galway Bay. The five star g Hotel takes much inspiration from its environs and its location on the shores of the stunning Galway Bay, which is renowned for the best fish and seafood in Ireland. The g Hotel’s highly talented culinary team led by head chef Jason O’Neill are always inspired by the wonderful seafood and fresh fish caught daily in Galway. On Thursday, September 5, the g will celebrate this Galway tradition with a stunning Seafood Sensations evening in the award winning Restaurant gigi’s.

From fish to fork the evening will be packed full of flavour, colour, texture, and aromas. Seafood Sensations will feature a seven course tasting menu, delicately prepared to ensure guests truly relish the essence of Galway’s best seafood and fresh fish in the elegant surroundings of the five star g Hotel. The carefully selected menu will be paired with an equally inspiring selection of wines which will certainly arouse all of the Seafood Sensations on your palate. Guests will enjoy a delightful evening of flavours, seafood experiences, and wines for only €75 per person.

Carefully prepared with the greatest attention to detail, head chef Jason O’Neill and his team have created a delicious seven course tasting menu including a cured salmon, avocado, beetroot, crème fraiche to start. The g team chefs love to let their creative juices flow, especially when they have the finest selection of Galway’s seafood and fish produce straight from the shoreline of the Wild Atlantic Way at hand.

This will be followed by a mouthwatering lobster ravioli, saffron, summer greens, and lobster bisque. At this point a Champagne sorbet will be served to refresh the palate ahead of a main fish course which will feature a delicious fillet of turbot with fondant potato, asparagus, girolles, tomato, and prosecco foam. Guests will also have the option of a meat based surf and turf dish which will feature a crispy short rib of beef, seared scallop, cauliflower, hazel nut, and samphire. The creative pastry team at the g have designed an assiette of desserts which have also been influenced by the sea. The menu will paired with carefully selected wines to stimulate and enhance all of the Seafood Sensations flavours. The menu will finish with petits fours which will be served with refreshing tea and coffee.
