ON THE Tide Of History, a new exhibition of bronze sculptures, drawings, and paintings by John Behan, opens at The Kenny Gallery tomorrow at 6pm.
These new works depict the painful journey of two cultures - the Jews and the Irish. Behan makes connections between the two peoples, each with their own stories, struggles, hardship, and suffering, through The Famine for the Irish and the Shoah for the Jews.

‘AND THEY Flew...’, the annual exhibition by the students of the award winning Galway artist Denise Hogan, opens this Saturday at 7.30pm in the Renzo Café, Eyre Street.
The exhibition is the culmination of students attending Denise’s classes, run from her home studio in Roscam and in Headford.

Wrynn and Barry’s paintings feature still lifes, animals, landscapes, florals, figurative works, and old Galway scenes, some painted in sepia and palattee knife.

GERMAN BORN, Galway based, artist Dagmar Drabent is hosting an exhibition of photographs in Áras na Mac Léinn, NUI Galway.
Drabent’s aim in this exhibition, entitled Dignity Is A Strong Body, is to celebrate some of her friends who are dealing with illness or life challenges. She has photographed flowers just post-maturing and designated an image to a friend with text, celebrating that person.

Galway-based artist Bertrand Huvé is to launch his first solo art exhibition Premier Sourire at Bar No 8, on the docks, next Monday at 6pm.
Mr Huvé is known in Galway for his musical exploits, especially for his saxophone playing. He teaches sax and clarinet at GTI and plays with the big band, Black Magic. He has been involved in various musical projects since his arrival in Galway more than 12 years ago.

ART OF Galway, the main art exhibition at the Galway Fringe Festival, featuring numerous local artists, is on show in the Dominican Hall in The Claddagh.
The exhibition features Human Collage by Ali Raza, exploring in the dark side in an expressionist style; The Insomniac is a cinematic narrative by Enda Burke; Symbiosis series of photos by Lara Luxardi; Tara Breathnach’s Saothair on Iarthar, inspired by the west of Ireland; Deirdre Deegan’s prints examining the process of decay, entitled What’s left Behind; Joanna Kasinska will exhibit conceptual ceramics; and An Spidéal’s Ruth Cadden will display landscape, figurative, and mythological paintings and drawings.
