Shane Keegan’s charges, who have only suffered one loss in their last nine competitive matches, are enjoying a productive spell. On Friday a last-gasp Gary Shanahan goal secured a memorable 2-1 victory over champions Dundalk in the league and then United advanced to the semi-final of the EA Sports Cup following a dramatic Bank Holiday Monday penalties triumph over Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds.

Galway WFC are back home on Saturday, keen to return to winning ways when they take on Cork City in Eamonn Deacy Park at 6pm.
Galway will be hoping to repeat their victory over Cork when they last met in the shield quarter-final. In that cracking encounter Galway came back from being 3-0 down to win 5-3, and manager Billy Clery will be hoping his side can reproduce that attacking performance, while tightening up at the back.

Galway's Nicola Duncan claimed victory at the Connemara Ultra Marathon, storming home in the women's race in a time of 5hrs 1 minute.
The international athlete, recovering from a long injury lay off, was looking back to her best with Sunday's victory in the gruelling 39.3 mile event. Duncan was the ninth fastest runner in the field of nearly 200 athletes. The first man across the line was Sean Brosnan in 4hrs 32 minutes, with Jerome Debize of GCH second in 4 hrs 34 minutes.
