On Saturday in Pearse Stadium, Tuam Stars will play An Spideal at 3pm, followed at 4.45pm by Moycullen v St Michael's. Tuam Stadium will host the other two quarter-finals on Sunday with Salthill-Knocknacarra v Claregalway kicking off proceedings at 3pm, followed by the clash of Mountbellew/Moylough and Corofin (4.45pm) in a repeat of the county finals of 2017 and 2018.

Jim Phelan of GCH made the final of the O45 400m after two great qualifying rounds where he placed fifth with a fast time of 53.23, while Sean McDermott of Castlegar AC had an impressive run placing 10th in the men’s 1500m at O45 level.

Three Galway rowers, Bríon O’Rourke, Eoin Finnegan and Cliodna Nolan are on the world stage this week at the U23 Rowing World Championships in Sarasota, Florida.

The two Galway oarsmen, O'Rourke and Finnegan, were part of the Ireland's coxed fours, while NUIG’s Cliodna Nolan was partnered by UCC's Aoife Casey in the women's lightweight double.
