Runners ready for Connemara 10k

Starting in Carna village, the race crosses the islands of Roisín an Chaladh and Muig before reaching the turnaround point at Muighnis graveyard and heading back to Carna. The coastal run is flat and fast.

Galway fighters prepare for All Ireland title fights

Two fighters from the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club, Dara Mannion from Westside in Galway city and Jamie O'Sullivan from Clonberne, Co Galway, will take to the ring in Galway in the Clayton Hotel on Saturday night with high hopes of becoming All Ireland champions.

Dara Mannion, AKA The Westside Warrior, will take on Sean Rowe from the highly-regarded Top Pro Gym in Kilkenny over five two-minute rounds for the vacant IKF All Ireland super welterweight kickboxing crown at -69.5kg. Both men recently won eliminator bouts against different opponents by knockout in the run up to the title fight, and are now ready to do battle for the vacant belt.
