2008 has been a marvellously successful year for the Corofin GAA club on the field of play, and to celebrate the club is hosting a special day of festivities on Saturday (December 27).
The day kicks off with Mass in St Colman’s Church, Corofin, at 2.30pm with Fr Oliver Hughes as chief celebrant.

Heverin, a former Salthill player, is well known in Galway GAA circles as the man who managed Portumna hurlers to three county titles and two club All-Ireland titles in recent years and was interviewed for the county hurlers managers job recently.

The Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Gym is promoting an international full contact kickboxing tournament at Galway’s Black Box Theatre on Saturday, entitled "Seasons Beatings".
This is one of the Galway club’s most ambitious projects and will feature an Ireland v The Carribbean five-man team event, three IKF European title fights, an IKF All Ireland title fight, an IKF Five-Nations title fight, an Ireland v England international bout, and seven undercard fights featuring fighters from Galway.
