•Galway-born golfer Alison Walshe, who recently decided to represent Ireland, has received a grant from the Team Ireland Golf Trust. Walshe, who was born in Galway but grew up in Massachesetts after her family emigrated when she was four, was one of four golfers who received of €20,000 from grants totaling €217,000 for 17 aspiring golfers. Walshe (24) recently declared she would represent Ireland in the Solheim Cup - women's golf version of the Ryder Cup.
