Mervue United appoints Neary

Experienced football coach Justin Neary has been appointed to oversea Mervue United’s Airtricity u- 19 team for the coming season.
Neary, who holds a UEFA coaching licence, has 20 years experience coaching underage level in Galway and has guided several teams to national success in that time.

Unfortunately the Galway minor footballers had a very short championship this season, as they crashed out of the competition last Saturday evening at Tuam Stadium, losing to Roscommon on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-9 after extra time.

St James joined Salthill in the Galway Senior Football Championship quarter-finals with a hard earned 1-10 to 0-8 victory over Caltra on Saturday evening in Tuam Stadium.

Rathun/Salthill had an excellent display from goalkeeper Joseph McNamara, while full back Darragh Sweeney, centre back Colin Hanbury, along with Eoin Kennedy, Andy Dunne and Joe Curtain, also battled hard for Rathun/Salthill.
