On a bitterly cold day NUIG-Corinthians u-20s turned up the heat on local rivals Galwegians with a thumping 46-3 eight-try victory at Cloonacauneen.
Despite the lop-sided scoreline, the visitors had dictated the tempo in the opening ten minutes, kicking for territory and squeezing the home side.

Peter O’Sullivan of Craughwell AC and Martin McEvilly of GCH both came away with team medals from the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International in Nottingham, England, on Saturday.
The evergreen McEvilly won gold and silver - a gold team medal with the Irish squad, and an individual silver in the over 65 category, while O’Sullivan was third Irish scorer home in the team’s over 40 silver.

There were questions asked about Corofin and how good they really were going into Sunday's Connacht Club Senior Football Championship final, they had swatted aside with ease all that stood before them in Galway and the Leitrim champions Aughawillian hardly raised a glove against them. But make no mistake this current Corofin team are one serious outfit. The bookies had them odds on favorites before the game against a side who in their last two games had beaten the side who had lost in the All Ireland final, just six months earlier and the team who had claimed that same championship the year before.
