Corinthians struggle in this season's Ulster Bank League does not get any easier this weekend when they host promotion chasing Garryowen at Cloonacauneen Park on Saturday (2.30pm).
Having suffered their seventh defeat in division 1B when losing by 27 - 13 to Malone in Belfast, Corinthians dropped closer to the relegation spot, just three points ahead of bottom-placed Belfast Harlequins.

There was a sense of an end of an era in Galway football circles in many regards last week when the news filtered through that former Galway football chairman Pat Egan had died following a long battle with illness.
Pat, who was one of the longest serving GAA officials in the country, had given a lifetime of unstinting service to Gaelic football at numerous levels of the organisation, including his club Corofin, Galway, Connacht Council and Croke Park

Galway county football champions Corofin went to Ruislip with one job and one job only - qualify for the upcoming All-Ireland semi-final for the sixth time in the club's history.
They did that by virtue of an uninspiring 0-9 to 0-2 victory over Tir Chonaill Gaels on a heavy, slippery, and wet Ruislip pitch on Sunday.

This Sunday at Kenny Park (1.30pm) the county senior hurling championship final sees Gort, the 2011 champions, take on Portumna, the 2013 champions, in what promises to be an epic battle to see which club takes home the Tom Callanan Cup for 2014.
Portumna have been outstanding Galway champions on four of the six occasions they have won the county cup since 2003, having progressed to win the All-Ireland title four times.
