Connacht’s young guns get chance to shine tomorrow

Connacht’s brightest young talent will make their debuts for the province in the last of the three pre-season friendlies tomorrow night at the Galway Sportsground (6.30pm).
Clifden’s Tiernan O’Halloran and Eoin Griffin from Knocknacarra have been named in Michael Bradley’s starting XV for their clash with English first divison outfit Rotherham Titans.

This crucial game decided which team would advance from the group, and it was Bearna who edged the contest by a single point, 0 - 13 to 0 - 12.

The best game of the weekend by far was the enthralling encounter of Caltra and an improved Tuam Stars. The game had everything and provided superb entertainment.
Indeed some of the saves from Tuam’s Paul Doherty in particular and Caltra’s Kevin Kilroy were well worth the trip to the game.
