Galway WFC must take their chances against Shelbourne

Galway Women's FC turn their attention to the Continental Tyres WNL Shield quarter-final when they travel to Dublin to face Shelbourne on Saturday (3pm).

Galway manager Billy Clery will be heartened after his squad returned to winning ways when defeating UCD Waves 2-0 on Saturday evening in Eamonn Deacy Park. However, he will be looking for more goal-scoring accuracy and a stern defensive effort against the league's leading scorer Leanne Kiernan who has nabbed 10 already this season.

Both sides are level on 24 points after Kevin Doherty's Drogheda sealed a 2-0 win over Wexford, while Galway produced a 2-1 triumph at Stradbrook. It was an important result for United, with Robbie Williams and Marc Ludden grabbing goals, and while manager Shane Keegan said it was not United’s most effective display, his team still secured the full complement of spoils.
