Have fun with the Foróige summer camp

Foróige is running a summer camp from Monday July 23 to Friday 27 to raise money for its Galway City Youth Cafe in the Fairgreen.

The summer camp is open to those aged between 12 and 18 in Galway city and county and will run from 10am to 4pm daily. Young people will have an opportunity to experience a wide range of activities such as kayaking, music production, DJing workshops, fishing, mountain biking, street theatre, visual arts, field sports, and more. All activities will be run by trained and vetted professional youth workers.

Nolan encourages Galwegians to apply for the Warmer Home Scheme

More people in Galway will be able to apply to the Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme now that the Government has extended it to homeowners on social welfare.

The free home insulation service was previously only available to homeowners in receipt of fuel allowance. However this has now been extended to those on Job Seekers Allowance, Family Income Support, and those in receipt of Fuel Allowance. The scheme is administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
