Aileen Moran was born within the sound of the Bow Bells in 1971 in the East End of London, making her an official Cockney.
Her family is originally from County Mayo and, after some time in England, moved back to Ireland to Salthill. Her work is heavily influenced by the glorious surroundings of the west coast of Ireland. Aileen recently completed an oil painting masterclass of figure painting, portrait, transcription, and large still life course at the Burren College of Art under tutor Conor McGrady, dean of academic affairs.

The Learning Institute, Galway’s newest English language school, will hold an English school open day on Monday August 25. Everyone is welcome to go along and avail of a free English lesson and level test. Testing and free lessons will take place from 10am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 3pm.
The Learning Institute offers both daytime and evening classes for all English language learners, from beginner to advanced level. General English classes are €9 per hour, offering some of the best value in Galway.
