The fourth Annual Donkey Derby in aid of the Injured Jockey’s Fund will be held in Galway city on Thursday August 1 at Galway Greyhound track.
Twelve donkeys will battle it out for first place and tension is mounting as to who will be first past the post. Not since the glory days of Red Rum and Arkle will Galway have seen such speed and skill in action with national hunt jockeys Paul and Nina Carberry; Davy Condon; and David Russell to name but a few who will mount the asses.

A GMIT student and his co-accused have admitted hacking into Fine Gael’s website in the lead-up to the 2011 general election as part of a “stunt” to embarass the party.
The men, who used online aliases ‘Raepsauce’ and ‘Palladium’, had been identified by the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation in conjunction with US law enforcement agency the FBI.
