A painting of the Nativity by Adam Pomeroy, is currently on loan to and being exhibited in Galway Cathedral.

The painting is a modern day depiction of Mary and the new-born Jesus. The focus is on the mother and child with the intention to bring to the fore the human, emotive, content of the scene.

Jack McCann, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Galway University Hospitals from 1989 to 2010 launched his first book of poetry, “Turning on a Sixpence” at University Hospital Galway last week.

He was born in Dublin, studied Medicine in UCD and after many years of training and travelling, settled with his family in Galway in 1989.

Widow awarded €1.6m as court feels she lost farm after husband’s wrongful death
