The Fiscal Compact Treaty is a promise between EU states whose currency is the euro, to support each other through times of crisis and market speculation.
This is the view of Fine Gael county councillor Jarlath McDonagh who is calling on Galway voters to support the treaty on May 31.

The provision of a primary care centre in Tuam would reduce the pressure on the already overburdened emergency department at University Hospital Galway, according to a local county councillor.
Tuam politician Seán Canney says such a centre would provide a “one stop shop” for multi disciplinary services, including x-ray facilities, ultrasound tests, minor injuries, daycare and stepdown facilities as well as linking into the services of other primary care professionals such as specialist childcare, disability, nutrition and dietetic services.

No more than when driving, in the book world you should always expect the unexpected. Coming back to work from the Bank Holiday weekend, I discovered sitting on my desk, as though it owned the joint, a big white jiffy bag which contained a smaller bag of American type biscuits and a cookery book. Now new cookery books are not a genre I normally give a lot of time to, but bribery and corruption will always work in this neck of the woods, so I gave it a lot more attention than I would have normally.
