As there could only be one winner, as a runner-up prize each of the finalists received a weekend break with dinner at the hotel.

The Ardilaun Hotel is certainly one of the best known family run hotels in Galway, with a well deserved reputation for really looking after guests, providing luxury surroundings without compromising on the ‘traditional feel’ and giving the sense of a home away from home where the hard-working and friendly staff are always ready with a smile. These are just some of the core values that have helped The Ardilaun hotel develop, values that are key to ensuring the hotel continues to progress over the next 50 or so years.

“The hotel industry has grown and evolved through times of great growth and periods of difficulty, but we have remained committed to our mission, to offer affordable luxury accommodation steeped in tradition while continuously delivering the highest standard of hospitality and personal attention to detail,” said John Ryan, MD.

“During the last few years it has been very difficult in the industry but we’re back into a growth phase and we are looking forward to the future. We did invest in the past but that was on demand not speculation and we’re starting to reap the benefits of that investment. As long as we continue to give the value and retain the service we will continue to be successful.”

“The people of Galway and beyond have made the last 50 years more than enjoyable and together with them we have celebrated what has been for us a wonderful 50 years here at the Ardilaun.”.
