THE TOWN Hall Theatre will launch a pilot programme for new work this May called Studio THT.

Four companies will be selected and each will receive a week in the studio, mentorship, rehearsal space, and administrative support. Organiser Craig Flaherty says the programme will address the need to develop new work and existing space in the city.

A young Loughrea man died in hospital yesterday after suffering serious head injuries in a road traffic accident earlier this week.

The 25-year-old, whose name had not been released at time of going to press, had been travelling as a passenger in the car which crashed on the Loughrea to Woodford road at 7.40pm on Monday, February 7.
