The lack of proper tour bus parking facilities and the distance buses must drop tourists from the city centre “needs to be addressed as soon as possible”.
This is the view of Labour city councillor Niall McNelis who has raised the issue with the Junior Minister for Transport Alan Kelly and the Galway Transportation Unit in City Hall.

The event, which will take place this Sunday June 30, will start off at 2pm from the Central Tavern in Loughgeorge and finish a mile away at the Nine Arch Bridge, Claregalway.

The speed limit on the road from Galway Airport to Ballintemple is to be increased from 60kmph to 80kmph.
The National Roads Authority has agreed to this change which will be implemented later this year, although a county councillor is calling for the body to be taken out of the speed limit review process altogether.
