Pieta House to open in Tuam this October

A suicide and self-harm crisis centre which will serve Galway, Mayo and Roscommon is due to open in Co Galway in the autumn.
Building work has already begun on the new Pieta House which will be located at Bishop Street, Tuam. The 17 week project is being carried out by John Moran Plant Ltd and is due to be finished by the end of October.

Seven horses were seized in early morning raids in Ballybane this week. The horses were removed from a house in the area which had been boarded up for a considerable period.
The raid follows representations by Independent city councillor Terry O’Flaherty to the Galway City Council, the Gardaí, and the GSPCA in relation to horses on public greens and where there were suspected cases of neglect and cruelty.
