Meetings to organise a campaign against the Government’s proposed household charge will take place in Ballybane and Knocknacarra.
The meeting for Ballybane takes place in The Lantern, this Monday, at 8pm, while the Knocknacarra meeting takes place in The Clybaun Hotel at 8pm on Monday October 17. The meetings are open to all and similar events are being planned for Mervue, Tirellan, Oranmore and Doughiska.

The Keep St Francis Nursing Home Open Campaign also has the support of all five local TDs and Senator O’Clochartaigh who attended a public meeting at the Westwood Hotel to try and secure the future of the Upper Newcastle facility.
