Explore Corfu your way with Fahy Travel
Thu, May 05, 2022
Celebrating the new service from Shannon to Corfu, Fahy Travel has some excellent offers to this popular destination known as the Emerald Queen of the Greek Islands with its lush vegetation all year round. Full of olive trees, cypresses, and a wealth of other plants, insects, birds, and animals, this unique destination attracts thousands of Irish holiday makers every summer.
The town of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is influenced by years spent under Venetian, French, and British rule offering both Baroque and classical history; palaces, fortresses, and austere public buildings of the Venetian rule uniquely blend with lines of drying washing in tiny alleyways and small secluded squares. Strolling through a complex of narrow cobbled streets with stairways and vaulted passages, the so-called kantounia (small streets between high rise buildings) will make you feel as if you have travelled to Genoa or Naples.
