Supermac’s is changing the industry

Thu, Feb 23, 2017

Supermac's has launched a new light sandwich recently. It is a 100 per cent fresh, never frozen, grilled chicken breast sandwich, and as well as the chicken being 100 per cent fresh it is also 100 per cent Irish. Each sandwich is made to order so the chicken breast does not touch the grill until you order it. It is served in a wholemeal bun with locally supplied red onion, batavia lettuce, chipotle mayonnaise, and seasoning from West Cork. It tastes great and it is good for you as (and this is the really good news) it has fewer than 350 calories and five grams of fat, depending on the sauce you select. It has proven so far to be a very popular addition to the menu. The sandwich has a points score of seven Smart Points on the Weightwatchers SmartPoints Calculator when light mayo is used.

Alleviating neck and shoulder pain by professional manipulation and acupuncture

Thu, Feb 23, 2017

Neck and shoulder pains are common complaints. Some people experience only neck pain or only shoulder pain, while others experience pain in both areas. Other associated symptoms can be headaches, numbness, tingling, poor sleep patterns, or more severe symptoms such as anxiety or depression. Symptoms vary from person to person. While some lead relatively normal lives, others are unable to work and limited in their capabilities, which can particularly disrupt their quality of life.

Neck pain can be caused by spinal problems. Muscular tightness in both the neck and upper back, pinching of the nerves emanating from the cervical vertebrae, or cervical joint disruption can create pain. It may arise due to car accidents, such as whiplash, sporting events, and day to day minor injuries. Neck pain may also arise from many other physical and emotional health problems. The shoulder joint is susceptible to injury. While underlying causes still remain unclear such as frozen shoulder, shoulder pain can stem from different causes such as occupational overexertion and overuse, pinched nerves, degeneration, and injury.

International outcry at Athenia sinking

Thu, Feb 23, 2017

Week III
The sinking of the passenger liner SS Athenia on the evening of September 3 1939, off the Rockall Bank, prompted immediate outrage among the Allied and neutral nations. The ship, belonging to the Donaldson line, left Glasgow for Montreal, Canada, via Liverpool and Belfast on September 1. On board were more than 1,100 passengers, including women and children and 311 Americans, fleeing the inevitable war coming in Europe. One hundred and twenty eight passengers and crew were killed, 28 of whom were US citizens. Due to relatively calm seas, the survivors were picked up by passing ships, and brought to various ports including Galway, which I have mentioned recently.
