GCC's courses offer a mix of practical and portfolio work and work experience. They are designed as a step towards skilled employment or progression to higher education institutes. There are no CAO points required for further education courses, and after completion you can apply for more than 1,200 CAO courses that will accept a QQI award for progression purposes.

GRETB Training Centre celebrates fifty years

GRETB Training Centre marks its 50th anniversary in 2019. It has been at the heart of training apprentices and trainees in the west of Ireland since 1969.

The centre in Mervue, Galway, was officially opened on November 10, 1969 by Joe Brennan, then minister for labour, as the AnCO (An Chomhairle Oiliúna) Training Centre Galway. It opened with 28 staff.
