The story goes that in 1832, when JMW Turner found his painting Helvoetsluys exhibited side by side at The Royal Academy with John Constable’s The Opening of Waterloo Bridge, he was not prepared to be upstaged. To redress the balance between his watery-toned seascape and Constable’s richly coloured work, he strode into the gallery, added a red buoy to the centre of his painting, and walked out. Outraged, Constable is said to have remarked that Turner “has been here and fired a gun.”

Nora O’Malley, from Lettermore, has been named Aramark Ireland’s Healthcare Chef of the Year 2022.
Ms O'Malley, who works at Áras Ronáin Community Nursing Unit in Aran, wowed judges with her deconstructed mikado as part of a challenge to create a gluten-free dish in a live cook-off. The final took place in the Unilver Chefmanship Centre in Dublin last week to coincide with Coeliac Awareness Week.

The one-week free camp will focus on the theme of ‘Upcycling for Sustainability’ and will develop the entrepreneurial and innovation mindset of participants using tools such as design thinking and the lean canvas.
