Funding boost for Westport tourism

The Minister for Tourism Catherine Martin and Fáilte Ireland announced a total investment of €36.1million to develop a new world-class tourist attraction at Westport House and Garden Estate. Fáilte Ireland is investing €20.2million into the project.

It is expected that the first five years of this projected that €33m will be generated in direct tourism expenditure supporting 1,000 jobs in the area with 66 new jobs created.

CAO applicants urged to log in and confirm their application before it is too late

Last month, the Central Applications Office began emailing all applicants who applied to the CAO by May 1. This email is referred to as the Statement of Application Record email, and it replaces the traditional postal document which applicants would normally receive in May.

The email instructs applicants to log in to their CAO account to confirm that all of their personal details, examination information, exemptions (if any), and course choices are recorded correctly on their accounts.
