There is little denying that when a pair of silver screen superstars are asked to play each other’s lovers not twice but three times (the first two times in The Cotton Club and Unfaithful), there is definitely an on-screen chemistry that is working in their favour. Richard Gere and Diane Lane are no exception in their new film Nights in Rodanthe and somehow manage (with the help of some breathtaking cinematography) to carry an entire film on that chemistry alone.

MIRRORS IS a surprisingly old fashioned horror movie, with a ghost story at the heart of the gore and violence. Effectively combining carefully constructed sense of menace and a mystery story, the film manages to be thought-provoking as well as spooky.

Paddy Courtney (Paddywhackery, Prison Break, and the little purple guy in the Lotto ads) plays the Comedy Club this Sunday at 8.30pm and has the distinction of being the last comic to play at the Sunday night slot.

SARAH O’TOOLE, a former member of Galway Youth Theatre and a graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting, will be giving acting classes for adults in Galway starting next week.
The introduction to acting classes start on October 15 and will be held on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 9.30pm for six weeks in the Anno Santo Hotel, Salthill. There are 12/14 places available. Classes cost €120/100. The classes are open to all levels of ability.
