The Ballad of Reading Gaol

OSCAR WILDE’S greatest and epic poem, The Ballad of Reading Gaol, will be performed at the Bank of Ireland Theatre at NUI Galway, on Thursday February 13 at 8pm.

The event, which is part of the university’s Múscailt Arts Festival, will see the Scottish born storyteller and writer Rab Swannock Fulton recite/perform the poem’s 600 lines, accompanied by subtle props and appearances by co-performer Sandra Coffey.

One of O’Flaherty’s most controversial novels was Mr Gilhooley (1926) set in an urban, often impoverished, and violent Dublin. Following a successful refurbishment plan over the past few months, Q-Park officially relaunched its Eyre Square parking facility this week with a celebratory event to mark the occasion, to thank its customers for their loyalty and patience, and in particular to show that quality, secure, parking in the centre of the city is affordable.

The official showcasing of the facility included a maximum charge offer on the day, where customers could leave their car for as long as they wanted for just €5.
