YOU COULD find an art exhibition just about anywhere in Galway, from the train station to a coffee shop. However one of the more unusual places has to be the offices of Orla Murray Financial Services which is hostomg SMARTART 101 – Social Modern Art Relevant Today and Real Tomorrow for the last four weeks. This vast body of uber modern work produced by Irish artist Raymond Burrows began over five years ago and SMARTART 101 is the culmination of his creative efforts shown as a whole. The individual elements in Ray’s work span from the year he was born to the present day. Each piece runs with its own narrative, resonating on many levels of interpretation yet all the work assimilates to form a whole.
The 101 pieces were carefully assembled and mounted by the design/marketing group A Brighter Vision Generally where they became a huge montage covering the walls in the reception as well as the beautifully designed offices on the ground floor at No 1 Forthill Street, off Merchants Road. Members of the public are invited to call in free of charge at any time before tomorrow, when it will be deconstructed to continue on its exhibit tour.
