Galway Fringe art exhibition

ART OF Galway, the main art exhibition at the Galway Fringe Festival, featuring numerous local artists, is on show in the Dominican Hall in The Claddagh.

The exhibition features Human Collage by Ali Raza, exploring in the dark side in an expressionist style; The Insomniac is a cinematic narrative by Enda Burke; Symbiosis series of photos by Lara Luxardi; Tara Breathnach’s Saothair on Iarthar, inspired by the west of Ireland; Deirdre Deegan’s prints examining the process of decay, entitled What’s left Behind; Joanna Kasinska will exhibit conceptual ceramics; and An Spidéal’s Ruth Cadden will display landscape, figurative, and mythological paintings and drawings.

GALWAY-BASED writers Nuala Ní Chonchúir and Fred Johnston will be in The Bridge Mills this weekend, reading from their work as part of the Galway Fringe Festival.

Novelist, poet, critic, and songwriter Fred Johnston will read tomorrow at 3pm. He will be joined by Mary Dempsey, who will also read, and there will be music is by guitarist Paul Mulligan. Fred’s most recent book is the short story collection, Dancing In The Asylum (Parthian).
