A MAJOR exhibition of Galway city and county based artists work - Ealaíon At Lúnasa - will take please over three venues from July 30.

Ealaíon At Lúnasa is being directed by the Galway City Museum, Galway Arts Centre, and Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust and the organisers are calling on Galway based artists to submit work for the exhibition.

Adrian Crowley’s musical season sparks into life with new album

“MUSIC WAS always there in some form but only gradually asserted itself on me.” So says Galway born singer-songwriter Adrian Crowley as he prepares to release his fifth album Season Of The Sparks and plays a homecoming concert at Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh tonight at 9pm.

Leaving his Barna home in the early 1990s, Crowley moved to Dublin and worked for an eccentric art dealer with a penchant for Bonaparte memorabilia. Slowly but surely music began to play a larger role in his life and just over a decade ago he recorded his debut album A Strange Kind in a small Rathmines bedsit.

Town Of Fiction will be launched in Massimo, William Street West, tomorrow at 7.30pm as part of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature. The Atlantis Collective is Conor Montague, Aideen Henry, Dara Ó Foghlu, Patricia Byrne, Paul MacMahon, Colm Brady, Maire Robinson, Alan Caden, Bob Whelan, and guest editor, John Kenny.
