KATE O’BRIEN, one of the most notable and controversial Irish writers of the 20th century, will be the subject of a public lecture at the Forge At Gort festival.

Brian O'Rourke, a retired lecturer in Irish Studies at the GMIT spent a day in O’Brien’s company in the 1970s. He will recall the day in this talk I Spent Yesterday With Kate O’Brien, which takes place on Saturday at 4pm in Sullivan’s Hotel, Gort.
