THE ASYLUM, Keith Barry’s acclaimed live show, returns to the west of Ireland in January, as part of its final Irish run.
The Asylum is coming to the Black Box Theatre in Galway on January 14 and 15 and it promises to be Keith’s most outrageous, controversial, and funniest show to date.

Galway Arts Centre’s Winter Classes Programme starts again this January. The children’s classes begin on January 22 with the Saturday workshops. Children will get to explore and respond to the current exhibition using the medium of drawing and painting.

Conradh na Gaeilge's popular sean nós dancing classes under the expert tuition of Connemara sean-nós dancer Pádraig Ó h’Oibicín, return on Monday January 17.
Sean nós is an ad-hoc style of solo Irish dancing which survived the strict regulation of traditional dance in the 1930s. Over the last 15/20 years it has enjoyed a major revival.

OUT OF A Box is the title of this year’s 126 gallery Annual Members Show which opens on this evening at 7pm and features work by 11 artists.
The members were asked to respond to the theme ‘Out of a Box’, a term believed to derive from a puzzle created by early 20th century British mathematician Henry Ernest Dudeney.

It is notoriously difficult to find a publisher willing to risk publishing a collection of them. A poet with any talent at all will eventually achieve publication, as long as he or she occasionally leaves the house to send poems out.
