John Grant, who plays Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday May 5 at 9pm, was born in Michigan and spent many years in Denver, where he would later form the band The Czars.

NEW MODEL Army have been going strong for 30 years but they have never played Galway in all that time. That, however, is about to change.
New Model Army’s Justin Sullivan and Dean White will play Monroe’s Backstage Bar on Wednesday at 8pm. The show will be “semi-acoustic” and see Sullivan, along with guitarist/keyboardist White give alternative performances of NMA material, ranging from the band’s 1984 debut Vengeance to 2009’s Today Is A Good Day.
