THE FICTION writer and poet Susan Millar DuMars will host daytime classes in the Galway Arts Centre, for beginner and continuing creative writing students.

The class, which is suitable for those working in poetry or fiction, takes place on Mondays from 2.30pm to 4pm, starting May 12, and running for eight weeks.

The Silent Disco Street Party takes place this Easter Sunday, starting at 9pm, and promises to be the most fun you can have on the street with a pair of headphones. Two DJs will play songs to hundreds of people (who can switch between the two) dancing and singing along to classic hits anthems, guilty pleasures, and pure cheese - except no music will be heard as they will be all wearing headphones.

AC/DC TRIBUTE act Whole Lotta Voltage will bring a fearsome slice of ‘rock’n’roll damnation’ to Monroe’s Live tomorrow night from 10pm.

The band will perform a three-hour stage show, covering both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, complete with costumes, and high voltage renditions of such AC/DC classics as ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’, ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, ‘Highway to Hell’ and ‘Thunderstruck’.
