Latin/Irish trad fusion band to launch new album at Monroe's Live

BAILE AN Salsa, the Latin American/Irish trad fusion band, led by Uruguayan vocalist Andres Martorell, will launch their new album, ÉRIU, with a show in Monroe's Live.

ÉRIU, produced by the Grammy Award winner Walter Flores, best known for his work with Rubén Blades, will be released on Saturday February 10, and that evening at 8pm the band play the mainstage at Monroe's Live.

The band, made up of musicians from throughout the Americas and Europe, recorded the album with Flores, and six-time Grammy winning mastering engineer, Felipe Tichaeur, in Grouse Lodge studios, Westmeath. It features 11 tracks, fusing Latin styles, Irish trad, and funk, and includes 'Long Way Home', a song inspired by Galway city.

Baile an Salsa have enjoyed critical acclaim with Dónall Mac Ruairí of RnaG saying "to be touched by their music is to be touched by happiness itself"; and the magazine No Depression called them a "multi-ethnic explosion of joy and sound!" They have played the Kansas City Folk Fest, Kansas City Irish Fest, Galway Oyster Fest, Dublin's Temple Bar TradFest, Cork Gathering Festival, Galway Guinness Festival, and the Philadelphia Folk Festival.
