The first AIB Start-up Academy Summit of 2017 will take place in The PorterShed, Galway on Thursday January 19 at 6pm.

Hosted by Spiddal native Gráinne Seoige, the summit will bring together local start-ups, business influencers and experts from Galway and wider Connacht region for an evening of invaluable learning and networking opportunities.

Now in its third year, the AIB Start-up Academy comprises a competition to win an intensive eight week training programme and €200k worth of a prize package, a nationwide series of regional summits and tailored bootcamps, all of which have been designed to help start-ups take their business to the next level regardless of their level of experience or stage of development.

Joining Gráinne Seoige on Thursday evening for an informative panel discussion on start-ups will be local entrepreneurs Pádraig Ó Céidigh, senator and former owner of Aer Arann; Aoibheann McNamara, proprietor of ArdBia and co-founder of The Tweed Project; David Cunningham, CEO of Beolas and PorterShed board member; and Padraic Joyce, founder of PJ Personnel and former Galway footballer.

Attendees at the PorterShed can also avail of expert advice from AIB Start-up Academy Summit partners Google, The Irish Times, and BCSG, which will be offering one-on-one consultations as well as sharing free tools and tips for getting your business up and running.

Speaking ahead of the AIB Start-up Academy Summit in Galway, Evin Cusack, AIB Galway local market leader said, “We are delighted to be visiting the PorterShed for our first AIB Start-up Academy Summit of 2017. Galway has a thriving start-up community with some exceptional entrepreneurs and ideas. We want everyone who attends this evening to take away something which helps them grow their business, whether it be a nugget of information from our panel, expert advice, or a free business tool from our partners or a new business contact.”
